Game closing by itself
Some bank security software is incompatible with the game and causes the game to close on its own.
Programs called Warsaw, Topaz, Gas tecnologia and others make the game close by itself without any error message.
This doesn't just happen with Lineage II, it also happens with other games such as Diablo 3 (do a google search and type in warsaw diablo3, you'll see that it also causes the same problem).
Problems opening the game
The first thing you should try to do is delete the entire folder where you have your game installed, download it again and do a clean install. This way you can be sure that none of your game files have been damaged or altered by other installations and/or servers.
Also remember to include the game folder in your anti-virus exclusions. Some Anti-Viruses detect a false positive in some game files, so you won't be able to log in. Adding the game folder to your Anti-Virus exclusions will also help make your game run faster, since when you're running the game your computer won't be using resources to scan the game files in real time.
The same can also be done with your windows firewall, add the game to your firewall exclusions, this can also help.
Critical error
Problems with critical errors are usually solved by googling the critical error message you have received. The most common critical error we see is when the player only installs the connection patch but doesn't have the full client installed or has installed it in the wrong folder.
